PAIA Manual

This manual is published by Vault33 (Pty) Ltd under section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"). It describes the records we hold, how to request them, and the procedure we follow.

2. Guide published by the Information Regulator

The PAIA guide, which explains how to use PAIA to access information, is available from the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za in all 11 official languages.

3. Records held by Vault33 (s 51(1)(c) & (e))

  • Corporate: CIPC filings, tax registrations, statutory registers.
  • Financial: audited statements, bank records, invoices.
  • Employee: payroll, contracts, statutory deductions (UIF, SARS, COIDA).
  • Customer & prospect: contracts, DPAs, lead submissions, support correspondence.
  • Product: architecture documents, security policies, audit logs, incident records.
  • Regulatory: POPIA processing register, information-officer designation, breach log.

Some records are not available under PAIA. Grounds for refusal include third-party privacy (s 63), commercial information of third parties (s 64), confidential information (s 65), safety and property (s 66), legal privilege (s 67), research of third parties and the body itself (ss 68–69), and the mandatory-refusal categories. We will state the specific ground in writing if we refuse a request.

4. How to submit a request

  1. Use the Information Regulator's prescribed form (Form 2 under the PAIA Regulations), available at inforegulator.org.za.
  2. Submit it to mc@tremly.com — or by post to the address above.
  3. Pay the prescribed request fee (R50 for a personal request by a natural person; R140 for other requesters) to the banking details we provide on acknowledgement.
  4. We will notify you of the decision within 30 days of a complete request (extendable once by 30 days under s 57).

The Information Regulator may revise these fees; the published rate at the date of your request applies.

6. Internal appeal & complaint

If a request is refused, you may appeal in writing to the head of the private body within 60 days (s 75). Thereafter, or in lieu of appeal, you may complain to the Information Regulator or apply to a court.
